Jon Martin - President
Christian, Marine, Husband, Father, Awesome Grandfather, Entrepreneur.

Casey Basso - Treasurer
Casey Basso is a mother, grandmother and accounting assistant.

Thomas J. Winters - Secretary
Tom is the son of a proud Marine. During his professional career he served the life insurance industry for over 30 years as a senior officer in charge of distribution and national accounts. Today he serves as President of a consulting and executive recruiting company.

Tom is a devoted husband, father of 3 children and grandfather to 9 children. He is an avid reader, golfer, handball player, and enjoys rigorous hikes with his wife.

Debbie Record-Gomez - Board Member
Over 30 years of dynamic educational leadership experience, including currently as Director of Education and Principal for Hillview Acres Children's Home, a 24 hour Residential Treatment Center
for children who are the victims of physical/sexual abuse and/or neglect. Ms. Record-Gomez has won numerous teaching and service awards, and has assisted with and provided leadership to many
nonprofit, community service organizations.

Chris Yates - Board Member
Over 20 years of Human Resource and Operational Management. Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1982 through 2002; assigned to several infantry units, American Embassy's in Beirut, Lebanon, Madrid, Spain, and participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Chris is currently the Operations Manager for Temp Power Systems in Placentia, California, Junior Past Commander of the American Legion Post 365, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7041 and 1st Marine Division Association.

Jeri Winters - Board Member
Wife, mother, grandmother, even great grandmother, and also a nutritional consultant for a health products company. I am the proud daughter of my father who was a Merchant Marine.

Al Basso - Board Member
Allen L. Basso, CPA, has been a financial and business consultant since 1973. Al specializes in the areas of "proactive" business planning and consulting, structuring of mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and business entity reorganization, restructuring and formation. Al graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Xavier Castillo - Board Member
Born and raised in Anaheim, California, Xavier is a current Active Duty Marine.  He is currently a Staff Sergeant with 1st Reconnaissance BN, Camp Pendleton, California.  Xavier is a Christian and currently attends TO SOMA church in Hemet, California.  He is also a husband and father of 2 daughters.  He enjoys crossfit, swimming, and spending time with family and friends. 

David M. Rice, CHA, CAM - Board Member
David M. Rice is the Vice President Market Development at Welk Resorts, with the responsibility of appropriate research, design negotiations and deployment of new marketing distribution channels of Welk Resorts. He is also responsible for Welk’s existing marketing distribution channels and works closely with the SVP of Marketing on all new marketing developments. Prior to rejoining Welk, he was President & CEO of the Barbados Tourism Authority, a position he held during the years 2009-2012. David is an International Tourism and Hospitality professional with over Twenty Five years of Executive Management and Business Development success in Europe, North America, Caribbean and Latin America. He has led companies to profitable growth and benchmarks by employing skills in organizational leadership, customer service and employee motivation. An excellent public communicator, team leader and motivator he has a successful track record of providing sustainable quality of service, developing community relations and investing in succession planning and development of organizational restructuring. He currently resides in San Diego with his wife Shannon and their son Dillon.

Katie Lynn Bohnhof - Board Member
Katie Bohnhof is a recent graduate of the University of Idaho. She graduated on the Dean's List and has a B.S. in Advertising with an emphasis on Integrated Marketing Concepts, accompanied by a minor in Communications Studies. She is currently active as an alumni for her college sorority, loves to travel, is an art enthusiast, an avid runner and is currently contemplating Law School. Katie is currently working in the Hospitality Industry and enjoys giving back to her community through non-profit work.

Sharon Henkel - Board Member
Ms. Henkel possesses 18 years of hands-on primary medical care experience encompassing patient diagnostics, development of treatment plans and implementation of care programs. She currently conducts training programs in EMT, injury prevention, First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for several police departments and at corporate locations as needed in Southern California. She has 8 years volunteer background with Saddleback Church (the second largest in the country) within the Health Care Ministry, including but not limited to participating in numerous health care expeditions to Mexico. She has a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Texas Chiropractic College, Pasadena, Texas.


Ron McGuire - Advisor
Following graduation from college, in 1957, Ron performed various sales and marketing functions with several companies. From 1972 to 1978 he was Vice President of sales and marketing for a national company headquartered in Philadelphia. Ron returned to California In 1979. From 1979 to 2003, he had a partnership business supplying high tech parts to aerospace, aircraft, military and medical companies. During that time, he took advanced courses in psychology and counseling and acted as a mediator on behalf of children with drug and behavioral problems. Today, Ron is deeply involved in digital art which turned from a hobby into a part time business. His priority is to spend a great deal of time with his wife who had a debilitating stroke in 1997. Ron has three surviving children ranging in age from 49 to 56. Currently Ron is retired, and is the official photographer for American Heroes Tribute.

Lorrie Linn Odell - Advisor
Ms. Odell has worked in the Addiction Recovery field for 18 years. She has an Associate of Science Degree in Human Services and is currently the Admissions Director at Pacific Coast Recovery Center at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, California. She is a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor and is a member of the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Educators.

Our Mission

Our mission is to honor U.S. Military personnel that have given their lives in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their families, through remembrance. Banners of the Fallen are designed by their family. American Heroes Tribute supports qualified public and private events by providing the banners for display thereby honoring, preserving and celebrating their memory.
