Board Members

Grant Bjorn - Founder & CEO
Over twenty years of management experience within the telecommunications and sign industries, accompanied by a successful history of business startups. He is adept in planning, managing and directing field crews and has a strong artistic side.

Robert Pfeiler - Co-founder
More than twenty years of management experience within human resource and marketing, accompanied by a strong background in business-startup planning and execution, and multi-state expansion. Mr. Pfeiler has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, as well as extensive continuing education at the university level.

Lorrie Linn Odell - Liaison to Families and Board Member
Ms. Odell has worked in the Addiction Recovery field for 18 years. She has an Associate of Science Degree in Human Services and is currently the Admissions Director at Pacific Coast Recovery Center at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach, California. She is a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor and is a member of the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Educators.

Jerry Hay - Treasurer and Board Member
Mr. Hay has a solid military background stretching back to Vietnam as a UDT/SEAL team member and gained much distinction as frogman on the Recovery Crew for Apollo 16. He has over 25 years real estate sales and finance experience and has received numerous achievement awards.  He has been actively engaged in the planning, startup and development of three companies within the security, healthcare and real estate industries.

Barbara Breazeale - Secretary and Board Member
Ms. Breazeale has over 20 years of professional sales and business management experience within the transportation, human resource and real estate industries. She has had heavy involvement in numerous nonprofit and fund raising efforts, especially on the local level, including in both support and leadership positions. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Fullerton in Southern California . She is a Blue Star mom of a daughter who, as an officer, is currently deployed in Baghdad leading Army troops that maintain operational security.

Sharon Henkel - Director of Volunteers and Board Member
Ms. Henkel possesses 18 years of hands-on primary medical care experience encompassing patient diagnostics, development of treatment plans and implementation of care programs. She currently conducts training programs in EMT, injury prevention, First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for several police departments and at corporate locations as needed in Southern California. She has 8 years volunteer background with Saddleback Church (the second largest in the country) within the Health Care Ministry, including but not limited to participating in numerous health care expeditions to Mexico. She has a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Texas Chiropractic College, Pasadena, Texas.

William Pozzi, United State Navy - SEALS, ret. - Board Member
Mr. Pozzi has an amazing military background stretching back to Vietnam.  He was lead frogman on the Recovery Crew for Apollo 12 and most recently as part of the advance forces as a Navy SEAL Reserve directly participated in the fall of Baghdad. Mr. Pozzi  has a strong business-management background having effectively developed and managed several new or low-producing businesses into multi-million-dollar operations. He is a Blue Star father with a daughter who, as an officer, is currently deployed in Baghdad leading Army troops that maintain operational security.

Debbie Record-Gomez - Board Member
Over 30 years of dynamic educational leadership experience, including currently as Director of Education and Principal for Hillview Acres Children's Home, a 24 hour Residential Treatment Center
for children who are the victims of physical/sexual abuse and/or neglect. Ms. Record-Gomez has won numerous teaching and service awards, and has assisted with and provided leadership to many
nonprofit, community service organizations.

Chris Yates - Board Member
Over 20 years of Human Resource and Operational Management. Served in the United States Marine Corps from 1982 through 2002; assigned to several infantry units, American Embassy's in Beirut, Lebanon, Madrid, Spain, and participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Chris is currently the Operations Manager for Temp Power Systems in Placentia, California, Junior Past Commander of the American Legion Post 365, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7041 and 1st Marine Division Association.

Ron McGuire - Board Member
Following graduation from college, in 1957, Ron performed various sales and marketing functions with several companies. From 1972 to 1978 he was Vice President of sales and marketing for a national company headquartered in Philadelphia. Ron returned to California In 1979. From 1979 to 2003, he had a partnership business supplying high tech parts to aerospace, aircraft, military and medical companies. During that time, he took advanced courses in psychology and counseling and acted as a mediator on behalf of children with drug and behavioral problems. Today, Ron is deeply involved in digital art which turned from a hobby into a part time business. His priority is to spend a great deal of time with his wife who had a debilitating stroke in 1997. Ron has three surviving children ranging in age from 49 to 56. Currently Ron is retired, and is the official photographer for American Heroes Tribute.

State Directors

Breanna Peterson – State Director, Nebraska
Ms. Peterson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Translation and Interpretation from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Currently as a Department Manager at a worker's compensation insurance company in Omaha area she has developed strong leadership and organizational skills. Her father, a Vietnam vet, died as a result of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma linked to Agent Orange in Vietnam. This has inspired her to lead a journey to celebrate the lives of those who have served. Not only does she have a solid background within volunteer environments she has also had many experiences living and traveling abroad which have led to a passion and appreciation for human diversity. Other leadership experience includes coaching, teaching English as a second language, and operational management. Currently teaches Sunday school.
